This year marks the 150 anniversary of the Reform and Widening Project of Barcelona, devised by engineer Ildefons Cerdà: “Pla Cerdà”. The exhibition reflects and reviewed this amazing town-planning project, without it we cannot understand the Barcelona’s presents and future.
Until June 2010 Barcelona will enjoy of many activities to mark the anniversary.
Activities Programm
In this project are involved the Town Hall of the city, The “Generalitat” (Govern of Catalonia), Diputació de Barcelona (Council of Barcelona), the “Fundació Urbe y Territorio Ildefonso Cerdà” (FUTIC) and many entities and institutions linked to the architecture, urban planning and culture.
The conclusion of the Year Cerdà would do justice to the recognition of this important urban project and also will allow residents and users to understand him better.
